Finance Report Dec 15th

vic-kathy-ocean-head-shotKathy and I want to thank you for praying for us following my heart attack 3 weeks ago.

Some of you may have already heard through an earlier email, our Facebook page or Xanga blogs for Kathy or myself.

On Saturday the 15th I found myself experiencing chest tightness and difficulty breathing. I was hospitalized immediately with a heart attack they labeled as a “4 or 5 on a 10 point scale.” The good news was 2 smaller arteries had clogged or clotted. Doctors feel my heart should recover without additional surgery with new medications, exercise and diet. What a wake up call!

The irony– During the current economic difficulties we almost canceled our medical insurance a week before I went to the ER!

With the economic crisis we came home from the hospital to see a $2000 loss of monthly donor income in November!

With our health insurance at nearly $1400 per month- between premiums, medications and co-pays, it was already nearly impossible to pay this consistently out of pocket each month. It’s a good thing we put that decision off a month or two!

We need your help now if at all possible.

We’re still trying climb out of the hole this month, so any additional financial assistance from our sponsoring churches and partners is needed right now.

We also want to invite you to consider joining our monthly donor team as soon as possible.

If all our friends, alumni, and area churches could begin with a simple commitment of $20, $50 or even $10 per month, we could make a significant impact on replacing our lost income. If you are from one of our partnering churches perhaps you can consider increasing your commitment at this time.

If you are new to all this– Chi Alpha functions on the same basis nearly all non-profits like Red Cross, Medical Teams Intl. etc. do. We are responsible to raise the funding that covers our work and salaries. Apart from our partners, there is no outside funding.

How to help today—

A one-time gift toward our immediate need should be sent directly us at our home address– we are able to process 2008 tax credit through Assemblies of God U.S. Missions as long as the gift is received in December.

To become part of our donor team– Please complete this online “Faith Promise Form” by clicking here. If you are already a monthly donor, please update your status by completing a new form for 2009. This ensures our records are accurate.

To give online any time using your credit card– Please click this link.

To set up a recurring donation via check or credit card– Please click this link, then fill out and mail the form in. Type in our ministry account number 202227 5 where requested.

We’re in the process of rebuilding our database and newsletter system– Thanks for your patience during the process. If you receive this at more than one email address, you can easily unsubscribe the extra newsletters or also add a better email address to hear from us.
