2008 FOCUS Square Dance New Student Orientation for international students at Portland State began today (9/23/08). Ciurlionis Art These are some of the most famous works of M.K. Ciurlionis. His style could be called symbolist though there is discussion in the art world with some calling it impressionistic. It almost always includes metaphysical expressions of spirituality mostly derived from traditional Lithuanian folk tradition. His paintings are almost all done in tempera on very fragile media.During the 20th Century his entire collection was nationalized by Stalin and is now housed in the M.K. Ciurlionis Museum, Kaunas, Lithuania. 59 photos |

Ciurlionis Photos This is a collection of photos that will be relevant to members of the Ciurlionis family. M.K. Ciurlionis (my great uncle) was a relatively famous Lithuanian artist and classical composer that had a short but highly influential career that shaped all of Lithuania and much of Eastern Europe. I've collected some of these photos through research in the US and Lithuania, from government documents, printed literature and family members. 30 photos |

FOCUS Labor Day Trip Every Labor Day, FOCUS plans a 4 day trip exploring a different part of the Pacific Northwest. This year about 30 students and staff went camping in Olympic National Park, WA. FOCUS Guy Talbot State Park Picnic June 29, 2007 our FOCUS picnic group went to Guy Talbot State Park near LaTourelle Falls on the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Highway. It was a typical Oregon picnic with rain for the first bit. After we all ate, the rain stopped and cleared enough to hike to the Falls. About 140 students came out. 32 photos |

FOCUS Oak Hills Picnic Photos from our July 13, 2007 summer picnic hosted Cedar Mill Bible Church. Notably this night we held a Memorial Service for Papa's (Dick Cordell) car. It had well over 300,000 miles accumulated driving international students all over Portland and the Pacific Northwest. About 100 students attended. 41 photos |

Waldport Beach House This is our favorite place to go. The beach house is on the central Oregon coast and is owned by our friends Jeff and Carol. We try to make this our annual family vacation spot. Step out the back door and you are literally about 20 feet fom the beach! 38 photos |
